About us
Welcome to Pinpoint Needlepoint!
I was born in Oxford, Mississippi, but grew up in various cities across Tennessee and Kentucky. I first discovered needlepoint in high school, with M’s Canvashouse in Lexington as my first local needlepoint shop. At the time, all I knew of needlepoint were belts, and I quickly fell in love with designing custom memory belts for friends and family during my high school art classes.
However, art and needlepoint took a backseat when I accepted an athletic scholarship to play golf at Ole Miss. I majored in geological engineering—a unique blend of geology and civil engineering—and while I tried to pick up needlepoint again, I struggled to find supplies. With no LNS (local needlepoint shop) within hours of me and limited online options at the time, I never got very far.
Fast forward to 2020. I was working as a geotechnical engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, planning my wedding, and, like many others, rediscovering hobbies during the pandemic. This is when I finally found the growing world of online needlepoint shops—Greystone, KC Needlepoint, Penny Linn—and I started stitching like crazy, even learning to finish my own ornaments! Still, I lived in what you’d call a ‘needlepoint desert,’ with the nearest LNS over three hours away in all directions.
In 2023, my husband encouraged me to start designing my own canvases, and by the spring of 2024, we took the leap and launched our own company! Naming it was a challenge—we tossed around ideas for weeks but couldn’t pin down one we truly loved. And with that exact thought, Pinpoint was born!
We started out on Etsy, but within six months, we knew we needed our own website to grow. And now, here we are! We’re so excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.
If you made it through this long post—thank you! We’re thrilled to have you here and can’t wait to share our love for needlepoint with you!
